Publicis India launches design arm Red Lion

PUBLICIS India on Monday announced the launch of it design arm Red Lion. Elsie Nanji, ex-vicechairman and chief creative office, Ambience Publicis, will be the managing partner for the venture, aPunit Jagasia, formerly heading Lintas India’s entertainment marketing division Dcell as partner looking after the strategic and administrative part of the business. Ms Nanji is one of India’s most respected creatives, and one of the few art directors who have gone on to a national leadership role. Discussing her new role, Ms Nanji said, “I always liked design and have always been skewed towards good design. Ambience Publicis is known for its art work in the industry and after 30 years in advertising, I wanted to do something that I loved. Marketing and making big budget advertisements didn’t appeal to me any longer. Red Lion will give me the opportunity to spend more of my time on design and related aspects.” Red Lion will be focusing on doing high quality but limited number of work; its initial clients include Atmosphere, Taj Group of Hotels, Lakme and Bisleri club soda. Publicis India CEO Nakul Chopra says: “There was an opportunity and a need for Publicis to be present in the design space in the market. Red Lion is in sync with our vision to move fast to offer holistic and endto-end solution to our clients.” Although there are no set growth targets right now, Red Lion is banking on Ms Nanji and Ambience Publicis’s brand equity to help them in the market. “We are interested in forming a relation with the client through good work and I am sure numbers will follow,” she told ET.
