Moser Baer launches Telugu home video range

Optical and magnetic storage device manufacturer Moser Baer has launched Telugu titles in its low-cost home video range in Hyderabad as part of its plan to expand the VCD/DVD business. The company, which has entered the home entertainment business, is offering movie titles in VCD as well as DVD for as low as Rs 28-34 — a move that is aimed at combating piracy. Industry estimates suggest that piracy eats away Rs 300 crore of the about Rs 550 crore home entertainment market. The company had earlier launched titles in Tamil, Malyalam, Kannada and Hindi, Moser Baer said.
